Building an inclusive company

We will become an inclusive company, breaking down barriers to employment and progression and being representative of the societies and communities we serve. For Kingfisher, inclusion encompasses all the things we do to create a culture and workplace where everyone feels valued and respected, can be themselves and build skills for life.

Our targets

  • Provide 5 million hours of learning by 2025 through our ‘skills for life’ programme
  • Develop local inclusivity action plans for each of our businesses in 2020/21
  • Improve gender balance in management in 2020/21

Case Study

Building skills for life

Our apprentice programmes help colleagues to gain new qualifications and learn on the job. Over 750 people at B&Q and 500 at Screwfix – aged from 18 to 61 – are completing apprenticeships with qualifications up to master’s-degree equivalent. At Castorama and Brico Dépôt France, we’ve partnered with universities and business schools to recruit 744 apprentices for store-based bachelor’s and master’s placements.
